*LATE-BREAKING DEAL!!!* HP TouchPad for $99

It's 12:03am my time, and I'm up, dear readers, snooping out the deal of the century for you!  I hope that some of you will read this post early in the day and can get in on the fun.

Long story short, apparently HP has decided to discontinue their WebOS line of devices.  What does this mean for you?  If you've been in the market for a tablet computer but couldn't work the hefty price of one into your budget, now's your opportunity!!  Even if the WebOS platform is not your first choice, this is a chance to get up and running until you can afford (or better yet, find a deal) on the exact device that you want.

When stores like Best Buy and Staples open today they'll be selling the HP TouchPad at a grossly reduced price:  The 16GB will be reduced from $399.99 to $99.99 and the 32GB, originally priced at $499.99, will go for $149.99.  Don't sleep on this deal!  Stand in line if you have to.  Be there when the doors open.  Pack a lunch.

Get yours and then come back and tell us all about it.

Didn't I tell you that I would look out for you?  ;-)

I Love My iPod Touch

Hello again, everybody!  I hope that you've been enjoying your day.  I wanted to stop by and tell you about another gadget on my must-have list.

As a gadget queen, it's important that I have the latest and best all-around functional gadgets.  My absolute favorite gadget of all times is the iPod touch.  I love that thing!  :D

If you've always wanted the iPhone but didn't want to be held hostage to AT&T or Verizon and didn't want to pay the exorbitant service and data fees associated with it, then the iPod touch is for you! It literally really is the iPhone without a phone.

With it you can download tons of apps, play games, check email, surf the Web, watch videos, download and listen to music, and take and store photos.  I've read reviews by people who say that they can't imagine how they went about their day before they bought their iPod touch, and I totally agree!  I even use it to stay connected with family and friends through Twitter and Facebook.

I have the 4th generation, 32 GB model.  If you're thinking of getting the iPod touch I highly recommend this one (until they release the 5th generation model that is).  The 32 GB has more than enough space to download just about everything that you need and it's in the mid-price range so you won't break the bank.

Check it out and let me know what you think.  If you want to really get me talking, then start talking about the iPod touch.  You won't be able to shut me up! Lol.

Accessory Geeks

As I told you before, I'm a real gadget buff.  I love all things mobile--cell phones, tablet computers, iPods, etc. I also like to outfit my devices in 'attire' that's both fashionable and functional.  The very best place that I've found to shop for this is Accessory Geeks.

They have great prices, a huge accessory inventory for just about every mobile device imaginable, and FREE and fast shipping.  I've never had a problem with them in all the time that I've been shopping the site.  Great, personable customer service. They even have a Facebook page where you can not only get answers to your questions, but they always have discount coupons and sales specials posted.

Give them a try and come back and give us your review.

Sign Up for Groupon

One of the best ways that I know to get deals is through a company called Groupon.  I'm not exaggerating when I tell you that you can get HUGE discounts through Groupon, sometimes up to 65% to 85%. It's a service that I've been using now for a few months, and I love it!

Basically you sign up, which takes all of about a minute, and each day the site either emails you or sends a notification to your mobile device (they have an app for every major platform) describing the Deal of the Day.  As I stated earlier, you can get huge discounts on services local to your area with Groupon.  In the deal offer it will specify how many people need to purchase it for the deal to become valid.  If enough people sign up, your credit card is charged and they email you a link to a coupon which acts as your proof of purchase.  If the deal doesn't attract enough people to sign up, then your credit card isn't charged, and you just wait to try to purchase another deal that appeals to you.  People everywhere are raving about Groupon.

This is my referral link:  Groupon.   If you decide to look into Groupon, would you mind clicking on it so that I can get the $10 referral fee in Groupon bucks when and if you make your first purchase?  If you sign up, they'll allow you to generate a referral link too and as you refer family and friends your account will also be credited with $10 on their first purchase.  If you don't want to sign up through my link, no worries.

At the very least go to the site, check everything out, and see if it's for you.  If you sign up, come back here and let us all know what types of deals you're able to find.

Who's the Female in the Photo?

I told some of my family members about what I was trying to accomplish here at Gadgets, Gifts, and Deals, and one of them decided to pull it up on the computer to see what it was all about.  His very first question was "Who's the redhead in the photo?"

*gasp*  I'm scandalized! :-)  For those of you who may be asking the same question, that's Nancy Drew, the greatest female sleuth of all times.  Nancy Drew is a fictional character created by Carolyn Keene. I was a big Nancy Drew fan growing up and collected every one of the books in the Nancy Drew collection. If you have a young daughter, niece, goddaughter, etc. in your life who truly enjoys reading, you couldn't go wrong steering her to Nancy Drew.

Okay, back to reading, and this time I promise I won't come back until I'm completely finished with my book.

Share Your Own Gadgets, Gifts, and Deals

Share and share alike.
As I was sipping my iced tea and enjoying the latest download on my Kindle the thought occurred to me that I want Gadgets, Gifts, and Deals to be a place of sharing.  I not only want to share my finds with you, but I'd like for you to share your finds with me too.  In that way, we can keep paying it forward.

Tell us about the gadgets that you love, great gift ideas that you have, and the deals that you've found down below. If we share enough information with each other, we might get this thing down on lock and be able to reasonably continue to afford our shopping habits without breaking the bank!

Now back to my time in the sun with my tea and book.   Talk to you later!

Kindle Wireless Reading Device

In the next few posts, I want to highlight some of my favorite gadgets.  Gadgets are absolutely my passion, and I can't get enough of them.  One device that does a good job of combining my favorite hobby (reading) and my greatest passion (gadgets) is the Kindle reader.  This thing is just so amazing.  If you're on a budget and have been thinking about buying one of the new tablet computers but just can't get past the outrageous price tags that they carry, then the Kindle may be a good choice for you.

It's reasonably priced and portable.  You can download your books instantly, any time, anywhere, and the number of books available for download is staggering.  You can even upload your personal PDF files to it and read them on the go!  I like to read outside sometimes, but with some e-readers the glare from the sun is just too bright. The Kindle automatically adjusts to the glare so that my eyes aren't strained.  You have a choice of the Wi-Fi only or 3G version. They've even had them on sale as of late.  You can get a great discount on the device if you allow them to push ads to it.  To me, that's a small price to pay to get a good deal.

Think about it and let me know what you think.  It would either make a nice gift for someone or would be a wonderful way to treat yourself.  Either way, this is the perfect choice for the avid reader.

I'm off to pour myself a tall cold glass of Southern sweet tea with lemon and download a new book now.

Until next time!

Shop with Ebay

With the holidays coming I wanted to share a tip with you that you may probably already know about.  Don't sleep on Ebay.  They have great deals on wonderful products from sellers who understand how to treat customers right. If you read carefully and pay attention to the customer feedback you can find sellers with merchandise that you really want and need with savings that can sometimes amount to 60% to 70% off!

I've purchased a lot of items from Ebay over the years and at one point sometime very long ago was a seller myself, so I know how the system works both inside and out.  Just about anything that you can buy in an offline store you can find on Ebay and at a better price.

So start putting some money away.  Christmas is just around the corner, and you want to be the first in line to find all of the good deals and finish up your shopping early.  Then you can be like me and sit back while everyone oohs and ahhs over how smart you are and how you find such good deals. ;-)

Later, gators!

Back to School

I absolutely hate it when people start new blogs and then announce their first post in the first post, so I'm going to totally bypass that and jump right into it.

With so many in my family (both children and adults) returning to school over the next couple of weeks and everybody in a frenzy trying to find back-to-school supplies at the best possible deal, I decided to pitch in and do my part. ;-)  For the adults, buying textbooks was a major expense (have prices gone up that much since I was in school???), but I digress. After scouring the stores both offline and online I found a site that I think you'll be excited about:  Textbooks.com.  They boast discounts for up to 90% off the purchase cost, free shipping on orders over $25, and there's even a program where you can rent textbooks for a deep cut in the price!  You better bet your bottom dollar that I sent as many of my folks over there as I could.

Check out the link (yes, that's an aff link; if you purchase something I'll make a few pennies, and you'll help me out) and see if there might be any deals there for you.

I'll be back soon with my latest find in gadgets, gifts, or deals.

See ya'!
