Amazon Bluetooth Keyboard for Kindle Fire HD a Good Buy

If you own a Kindle Fire HD and use it for basic email and taking notes as well as its other functions and find the on-screen keyboard just a little too cumbersome for your tastes, then this may be a good buy for you.

AmazonBasics Bluetooth Keyboard for Android Devices - Black

Productivity

When I’m away from my home office I always take my Kindle Fire HD with me just in case I have to dash off a quick email or write a fast article. As a speed typist, a physical keyboard is always a better fit in this regard. All I have to do after the one-time initial pairing is to click CONNECT on this keyboard and it’s ready to go!

Size

At 10.4" x 4.6" x 0.7", it’s very portable and fits easily into the bag that I carry with my work material. It truly does make my Kindle Fire HD seem even more useful and productive than it already is. The keys also have a nice tactile touch.

Compatibility

The keyboard is Android 3.0+ compatible which means that you can also use it with your smartphone and some other Android tablets.

Power

A power indicator light gives you a warning when the battery is running low.

Price

At roughly $26, I found this to be a monumental steal and a necessary part of my work-travel routine.

Glass Straws

I'm a straw person, especially when dining out. I just don't like the feel of my lips touching the rim of a glass, and in the case of restaurants, they don't always clean the rims well enough, especially when they have been used by someone who was wearing lipstick when she used the glass. Into this void comes the concept of glass straws.

I didn't even know that such a thing existed! I tend to shy away from all things plastic when eating or drinking, but it goes without saying that one really doesn't have much of a choice when it comes down to the area of straws. Imagine my surprise when I came across the Glass Dharma Bent Handmade Glass Drinking Straws.

These straws are beautiful in their design and made of sturdy glass. They are easy to clean, and water and/or beverages just taste ultra clean when you use them. I especially like to use them when I drink my infused waters.

They come in a variety of sizes: wide (for smoothies), thin (for hot/cold beverages), and thinner (for juices). There's a diameter for every preference and every viscosity. They also come in a variety of lengths.

These straws show a wonderful commitment to the green movement as they are reusable for as long as you take care of them.

If you're a straw person too, I suggest that you check these out. I think that you will be impressed. In addition to the many that I have purchased for myself, I'll be buying more of these to give as gifts.

I Love My iPod touch - Part 2

I've written previously of my love for the iPod touch. It's a wonderful device -- the iPhone without the phone. My first one, a third generation, was stolen and I felt its loss for a long time after, until I was finally able to purchase another.

I use this device for everything: researching, listening to music, reading, surfing the Web, and participating on my social media platforms. I even have downloaded apps on it from time to time that enable me to use it as a phone!

It feels good in the hand, has an excellent design build, and the new fifth-generation models have surpassed my expectations. I particularly like how they are designed so that the back logo is seen through a cutout of the latest generation of cases.

As with all of my devices, I case mine in pink:

Take a look at them and see what you think. If you've always wanted an iPhone but didn't want the expense associated with it being tied to a phone carrier this just may be the perfect device for you.
